Penguin. Penguin? That’s right, Wunderlist for Linux is here. We know you Linux guys have been after it for some time, and Tux is now gracing the Wunderlist stage.

Wunderlist for Linux comes packaged as a .tgz file. Simply extract, and double click the executable – it will be up and running in no time. Wunderlist for Linux is available right from our website. Go forth and have fun!

With Wunderlist for desktop 1.2.4, all of you are power users. We’re making your workflow even easier with today’s incredible update.

So, what’s new?

  • Feature: Smart date - Add dates to tasks using text, right from the input field 
  • Feature: Add tasks to the top of a list by using ALT + RETURN 
  • Feature: Type a new task with a ‘*’ at the beginning to star or prioritize it 
  • Improvement: Separate notes window; edit multiple notes at the same time 
  • Added Greek translation and Finnish translation 
  • Other small bug fixes and improvements

The ‘long’ expressions have to be enabled via settings first.

Internationalization is very important to us. Considering we have over 900,000 registered users (with a forecast of 1 million this year) we thought it right to radically improve our language support for Wunderlist - on all platforms. So what’s the deal? 

Our iPhone/iPod Touch app now contains 16 new languages. They are:

Danish, Dutch, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French

Our Desktop app now contains 4 new languages, and 11 existing languages have been re-done professionally. They are:

Dutch, French, Icelandic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Northern Sami, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French

Our Android and iPad apps now include 13 new languages, and they are:

Dutch, French, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mexican Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, Brazilian Portuguese, Canadian French

We bundled in some small bug fixes and improvements for our Desktop and iPhone/iPod Touch apps, too. Here’s the changelogs:

Desktop:
Added 4 new languages 
Improvement: Existing languages have been professionally translated 
Added: New social buttons (Facebook: Like, Twitter: follow and tweet) 
Fixed: Sharing and date picker bugs 
Various other bug fixes and improvements 

iPhone/iPod Touch:
Added 16 new languages 
Added: New sharing options for tasks and lists 
Fixed: Tasks disappearing when typing them in

If your Wunderlist window over goes astray, you can always reign it back in by hitting ‘Reset window size’ from the ‘Settings’ menu. You’ll need to use this if your window is missing after connecting/disconnecting an external display!

The Wunderlist sidebar (housing all of your lists) can be positioned at the right or left. To change this option, simply go to: Settings > Sidebar Position.
